Officials at Telford & Wrekin Council told planning agents for Everready Health and Social Care Solutions that time deadlines could not be extended for the issues to be dealt with.

No members of the public raised objections to the change of use of the property in Anson Drive but officials had many.

One key objection to the proposals was an objection by Telford & Wrekin Council who expressed concern about the drainage.

In their objection, they commented “The proposed dwelling is in an area of high surface water flood risk and as such will require an FRA (Flood Risk Assessment) to justify an intensification of use on the plot.

“There is recent flood history from a culverted watercourse feature which is thought to pass through the grounds.”

Fire crews found a campfire which had been started by a member of the public in the park.

They provided advice to those present regarding fires within public and council owned spaces.

Historically it was considered unsafe for patients with pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators to go into an MRI scanner because of the metal content. 

Previously, these patients would have had to travel outside of the area to an alternative hospital trust for an MRI scan.

Commissioners at NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin have responded to a recent planning application for 80 new homes in a part of Telford.

Officials have called for £71,726 to be paid by developers to help GP surgeries if the plan for 80 new homes in Wellington Road, Horsehay, gets the go ahead.

Some of the farm barns at Lubstree Barns, off Humber Lane, Donnington, were converted to housing some time ago. Residents living there objected because of the state of the single-track road leading to the site.

Appellant’s agent Stansgate Planning has told the inspector that council planners had “reneged” on an agreement to give it more time to submit a flood risk assessment.

Emergency services were called out yesterday evening (7th January) following a collision on the M54 involving three vehicles.

The house in Dudmaston, Hollinswood, is already a four-bed HMO but owner Sheer Assets Ltd wanted to build a single-storey rear extension to increase that to six.

The applicant has been told that they have a right to appeal if they are aggrieved by the decision.

Mark Pritchard MP said: “The NHS says it is waiting for EHRC guidance, but it is the Equality Act that organisations must comply with, and the position in law has already been made crystal clear by the Supreme Court judgment.

A Telford resident is in a tangle with planners after building a storage unit on a parking space without first getting planning permission.

There are also issues with “misaligned corrugated sheeting“, a “wonky chimney” and plans allegedly not matching up with what a planning officer found had been built.

Attempts to sell the pub have proved fruitless, applicant Mr H Kumar told Telford & Wrekin Council planners. Mr Kumar also owns the nearby Bell and Bails pub and restaurant.

A landowner in Wellington has applied for planning permission to demolish a bungalow and replace it with eight new homes in two new three-storey buildings.

The new buildings would replace one three-bedroom bungalow on a plot at Constitution Hill, Wellington, with two townhouses and a total of six apartments.

Police are concerned that having longer opening hours to sell alcohol and provide more hours of live and recorded music, karaoke and comedy nights could increase anti-social behaviour at Dragon Soul in Newport.

Randlay Primary School received a £250 prize after its pupil Amelia, aged nine, won a public vote to design a new flag for the Borough.

The prize of £250 was donated to the flag competition by Telford Live.
