Search starts for independent chair to lead £30m project

Telford & Wrekin Council has begun the search for an independent chair to head up a new board overseeing a £30 million investment into the south of the town.

The Pride in Place South Telford Neighbourhood Board will lead a ten-year programme focused on Woodside, Brookside and Sutton Hill. The funding includes £20 million from the government and a further £10 million from the council.

The signs are up for a new furniture store in Telford. The Cotswold Company is preparing to open an outlet shop in Telford on the Forge Retail Park, next to Costa.

The brand, which started in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water in 1996, is bringing its range of handcrafted furniture and homeware to the town as part of a national expansion of its physical showrooms.
